For India’s marginalized and deprived populations, including smallholder farmers, tribal forest dwellers, rural students, and informal workers, technology serves as a vital tool for structural decentralization and socioeconomic mobility. Technological initiatives such as the JAM Trinity, UPI, BHASHINI, SWAMITVA and the Agri Stack demonstrate how the accessibility of these initiatives are changing the socio-economic profile of the last person standing in the queue. Thus, by building open, decentralized systems, India is shifting the paradigm from tech-exclusion to grass-roots empowerment.
